ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. FSU Alumni

Applicants must be alumni of Florida State University and be a majority owner or hold a C-suite level leadership position in the company.

2. Revenue Requirements

Applicants must have earned a revenue amount greater than or equal to $100,000 in 2021, and a revenue amount greater than or equal to $250,000 in 2023.

3. Founding Date

Applicants must have founded their business no later than January 2021. See below for additional details.

Florida State University Alumni Association reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the final list.


To be considered for the Seminole 100, companies (corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorship's) must meet all of the following criteria: 

  • Must have been in business as of January 1, 2021, and

  • Must have had verifiable revenues of $100,000 or more for calendar year 2021 and

  • Must have verifiable revenues of $250,000 or more for the 2023 calendar year.

In addition, the company must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • A FSU alumnus or group of FSU alumni that has ownership in the company and has served as a C-Suite executive (i.e. chairman, CEO, president or managing partner) for three consecutive years prior to nomination, or

  • A FSU alumnus that has led the company as a C-Suite executive for three consecutive years prior to nomination, or

  • A FSU alumnus that founded the company and has been active as a member of its senior management team for three consecutive years prior to nomination.

Other:

  • Alumni owners from publicly-traded companies must be listed on SEC filings 10-K for the last year submitted.


ADDITIONAL HONOREES

Additional FSU alumni honorees within a company may be recognized, but they must be top-level leadership (i.e. Owner, Founder, President, Executive Director, Chairman of the Board, Partner)


PUBLICLY-TRADED COMPANIES

Publicly-traded companies are eligible to apply for the Seminole 100. However, in order for an owner or executive-level leader to be considered a Seminole 100 honoree, the alumni’s name must be listed as an owner on the company’s most recent SEC Form 10-K .


REVENUE VERIFICATION

To ensure the integrity and credibility of the list, EY carefully verifies the revenue numbers for every applicant using the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) formula. Submitting documentation early will ensure accurate coverage.
