WHAT IS SEMINOLE 100?

Seminole 100 is an annual celebration honoring the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or led by Florida State University alumni.

The next celebration will take place on Spring 2025 on FSU's campus. The Seminole 100 Celebration will consist of a celebratory dinner, and the reveal of the 2025 Seminole 100 list. Companies will learn their numerical ranking and receive their award at the event.

Florida State University Alumni Association reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the final list.


WHO IS EY?

EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services. They deliver insights and quality financial services in capital markets and economies across the world.

FSU has partnered with EY to accept all revenue verification forms for Seminole 100, review them and rank the businesses according to their growth rate. Applicants are required to submit a revenue verification form to EY by July 28, 2024 in order to apply for Seminole 100. Please email your revenue verification form to financials.seminole100@ey.com.


WHAT WILL BE ASKED IN THE SEMINOLE 100 APPLICATION?

Basic personal information such as First Name, Last Name, Maiden Name, Degree Earned, College Attended and Years Attended will be asked to help verify your alumni status.

Basic information about your company such as Business Name, Location, Years In Business and more will be asked to gather information needed for the Seminole 100 Celebration Event.

Your company's financial information will need to be submitted seperately via the Revenue Verification Form. After completing the form, email it to our financial partner EY at financials.seminole100@ey.com by July 28, 2024. This will complete the application process.


IS MY COMPANY ELIGIBLE?

To be considered for the Seminole 100, companies (corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorship's) must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must have been in business as of January 1, 2021, and

  • Must have had verifiable revenues of $100,000 or more for calendar year 2021 and

  • Must have verifiable gross revenues of $250,000 or more for the 2023 calendar year.

In addition, the company must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • A FSU alumnus or group of FSU alumni that has ownership in the company and has served as a C-Suite executive (i.e. chairman, CEO, president or managing partner) for three consecutive years prior to nomination, or

  • A FSU alumnus that has led the company as a C-Suite executive for three consecutive years prior to nomination, or

  • A FSU alumnus that founded the company and has been active as a member of its senior management team for three consecutive years prior to nomination.

Other:

  • Alumni owners from publicly-traded companies must be listed on SEC filings 10-K for three consecutive years prior to nomination.

Vetting of Alumni Status and Financial Forms: August 31, 2024

Seminole 100 Celebration: Spring 2025


WHY SHOULD I APPLY?

DOES MY FINANCIAL INFORMATION REMAIN PRIVATE?

Yes. You will share detailed revenue and financial records with EY who will use these documents to calculate your ranking in the list. The only information that will be made public by EY and Seminole 100 upon announcing the list is your company's Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR).


WHEN WILL I KNOW IF MY COMPANY MADE THE LIST?

December 2024: We will notify companies who were selected as Seminole 100 honorees.


WHEN WILL I FIND OUT MY COMPANY’S RANKING?

Your company’s numerical ranking will be revealed at the 2025 Seminole 100 Celebration Event.


AM I REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE SEMINOLE 100 CELEBRATION?

No. We would love to see you there, but it's not required in order to make the list.


ARE PUBLIC TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR THE CELEBRATION EVENT?

Yes, the Seminole 100 Celebration is a ticketed event that is open to the public to attend. If you have questions contact us at seminole100@fsu.edu.

CAN MY CPA SIGN OFF ON THE REVENUE VERIFICATION?

Yes, if licensed.


CAN NONPROFIT COMPANIES APPLY?

Yes. If your nonprofit organization is revenue generating and meets the eligibility requirements, we encourage you to apply.


CAN ADDITIONAL ALUMNI BE RECOGNIZED?

a. If the company is private, the additional alumnus must meet leadership criteria and/or possess ownership in the company.

b. If the company is publicly-traded, the additional alumnus must be listed on the 10k for three consecutive years prior to nomination.


I AM NOT COMFORTABLE SUBMITTING MY REVENUES, CAN I STILL APPLY?

Yes, you may submit certain pages of your corporate tax return or audit. Contact us at Seminole100@fsu.edu for more information.


IS THE VERIFICATION SYSTEM BASED ON NET OR GROSS REVENUE?

Gross revenue.
